Why Nimble?

We are builders who supply and install, have pride in workmanship and 20 years experience in the industry.We manufacture and install homes - that means as well as being the manufacturer we have the building licence that sets the home on your block. We want to be involved in installation on your site to give you the ‘plug & play’ option or ‘the works’.

Building Licences are as much about certification / insurances and warranty as professional workmanship; our performance is reviewed by licensing boards that govern builders (a higher hurdle than simple fabrication). So the great thing this means for you is, when you contract with Nimble after the job is complete you'll be able to sign off with authorities (your banks & local councils) that your home will be a recognised investment or extension.

Our specialty, geographically speaking is the Top End around the NT and the Kimberley. So as well as coming to terms with great distances, the Building Code of Australia usually require us to build with Cyclones in mind and always with White Ants in mind.

You may ask of other builders, 'Will you be using steel stud wall construction?'; 'Has your design been built in a cyclonic area before?'; 'Will you be providing me with copies of the plumbers and electricians certificates? And can you offer extra measures to protect against White Ants?' (Nimble's answer is yes to all these questions).

Our building approach is most suited for remote towns or locations, how do you define remote? A good rule of thumb is to ask one of either of these two questions: i. is it hard to get a builder to come to your site or ii. will your builder be spending a lot of time in the car or away from home travelling to build your home? If the answer is yes, we have a solution you may consider.

At Nimble Homes we complete work in the factory prior to shipping to site. Work is controlled to allow co-ordination and economies for each job. Our expert team of tradesmen are trained to deliver the finishes you expect of a home. We pride ourselves in our level of finish.

As builders our designs may be massaged to suit your needs; this is the beginning of our service that ends when the keys are handed to you in a timely manner. We allow 3 ~ 4 months for a typical building to be completed in our yard.

Nimble's building techniques will mean there is no need to compromise your home choices, choices that you will be living with for a long time.

1. I want to get going quickly

By using an established design this allows for quickest initiation. You confirm kitchen and bathroom designs plus the finishes board; we take care of the rest.

Engineering & certification are resolved from prior jobs also offering a saving in time and money to you as the client. Minor modification to planning can be accommodated and may require a drafting fee of $500~$1200 depending on the complexity of the request.

2. I want an award winning design and designers

We respect the impact great architects can have on creating spaces that become more than the walls and floors of an area. Nimble homes have licences for such homes that we believe respond well to remote living, some have already won awards.

Nimble has the approval to reproduce their designs. An engagement of this type includes their supervision to ensure the design intent is met as well as it fitting to the site characteristics of your site.  For example please see 'The Batchelor Pad'

3. I'm looking for a builder and I have a floor plan in mind

With more than 20 years of experience building in a factory we find most building requests can be accommodated. Some clients know the type of home and price point they have in mind and after a quick meeting we can usually find out if our building approach will be suited for your situation.

Please note, for this discussion to be productive you need to start with two things, listed: i. a design direction (m2, layout and a description of the standard of finish is the minimum) and ii. an expected budget.
